Joe Kramer is a trial attorney who built his career litigating some of the most complex and high-stakes personal injury cases across the country. Early in his career, Joe gained rare experience working on medical device and pharmaceutical litigation against major international biotechnology companies, widely considered among the most difficult forms of personal injury litigation. The firms where he learned to litigate claims did not file and wait for other attorneys to fight for their clients, common in mass tort litigation, they were in the center of the battle. 

Mass tort cases involve multi-billion-dollar stakes; teams of nationally recognized trial lawyers; and jury trials lasting over a month. Very few attorneys in Chicago can claim the experience of serving on trial teams in this type of litigation, where outcomes hinge on intricate scientific evidence, world-class expert testimony, and the billion-dollar litigation budgets of global corporations.

Joe developed this experience while working for two nationally respected firms known for leading complex mass tort litigation: Napoli Bern Ripka Shkolnik and TorHoerman Law. He later returned to work with legendary trial lawyer Marc Bern as a partner, where he helped lead the establishment of a Chicago office that still operates today.

In addition to his courtroom work, Joe played an important role supporting Plaintiffs’ Steering Committees (PSCs) the leadership teams that guide national mass tort litigation. In that role, he helped prepare the scientific causation evidence used in pharmaceutical injury cases, working with leading experts to develop the medical and scientific proof necessary to hold multinational pharmaceutical companies accountable.

In 2018, successful work for a previous client opened an opportunity that allowed Joe to open Kramer Injury Law LLC, focusing on representing injured individuals and families in all forms of personal injury litigation. Since then, he has helped clients recover millions of dollars in compensation through settlement and trial.
